Fallout 76 reputation levels are among the most vital aspects of the game. This feature determines your character’s upstanding with the Settlers and Raiders. Gaining a reputation and becoming chummy with these factions will unlock various rewards and other perks in the game. If you reach a friendly status with these factions, you can then mingle without ever worrying about getting attacked.

However, the opposite will happen if your reputation reaches “Hostile” with one of them. In that case, any member of these factions will shoot or attack you if they spot you or you go too close to their bases.

In this guide, we share all the necessary information about the reputation system.

The Fallout 76 reputation system is similar to the Karma system in Fallout New Vegas. Reputation is valid in the base game as well as the expansions, including the new Skyline Valley update. If you want to survive in the wasteland, you will need to build a reputation for yourself.

  3. Neutral: 0 RP
  4. Cooperative: 1,000 RP
  5. Friendly: 3,000 RP
  6. Neighborly: 6,000 RP
  7. Ally: 12,000 RP

Raiders

There are several ways you can gain Fallout 76 reputation points (RP) for each faction. The best way is to simply complete the faction-specific quests. Completing each quest will reward you with at least +500 RP. You can also participate in daily quests that can reward faction-specific RPs.

Other than that, participating in faction vs creature or faction vs faction battles on the overworld can also reward you RPs for the faction you fought for. These are the methods by which you can gain RPs, but keep in mind you can also lose RP if you make the wrong dialogue choice or fail in certain checks. However, once you have the highest reputation level for any faction, it's impossible to lose RP.
