False Idols is arguably the most underrated weapon from the Pale Heart loot pool in Destiny 2. It is a Vortex Framed Solar Sword that can be crafted at any time and comes with some of the best perk combinations in the game. False Idols can easily fit into any role, be it clearing a group of mobs or damaging bosses. Being a Solar weapon, it can assist with significantly increased damage in endgame activities with Solar elemental Surges.
False Idols PvE god roll in Destiny 2
The following perks are recommended on the False Idols Sword in Destiny 2:
- Jagged Edge for increased Impact with the cost of low magazine
- Swordmaster's Guard for increased Guard Resistance, Guard Endurance, and increased inventory size
- Relentless Strikes for one free ammo after attacking with three light attacks
- Bait and Switch for increased damage on a target after damaging the same target with two other weapons in the inventory
The perk combination mentioned above is for damaging bosses in endgame activities. Players can now turn to this weapon in Solar elemental Surges, as the only Sword with Bait and Switch, up until The Final Shape's release, was False Idols.
To clear groups of mobs in a room, the combination of Chain Reaction and Incandescent will be great for any Solar builds.

The best perks for False Idols Sword in PvP are as follows:
- Honed Edge for increased Impact
- Balanced Guard for +40 across every stat, including Guard Resistance, Guard Endurance, Inventory size, and Stability

Since False Idols is a Heavy weapon, almost 90% of its usage will be in PvE activities. Hence, you can go for any perk combination when it comes to PvP, as nothing much will change gameplay-wise.
