The Moonfire Faire is back in FF14 for 2024! This popular summer-time event will be available from August 8 to 26, 2024. As is tradition, it is a relatively short event that culminates in new rewards for the player; this year, it’s a brand-new emote and cosmetic for player housing. It’s a fun, short event, with a theme of "Everybody Say ‘Uchiwasshoi!’"

It also requires players to be at least Level 30 on the combat job of their choice, much like the 2023 holiday event required. If you want to know where it all starts, and what you need to do, look no further for the 2024 Moonfire Faire event in FF14.

You can pick up the quest for FF14’s Moonfire Faire 2024 in the Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (11.5, 13.8). This quest, Fire Red, Beast Green comes from Mayaru Moyaru. Once you reach them, you’ll be asked to travel to Costa Del Sol and speak to Chief Chapterone Haermaga about the Moonfire Faire. Teleport to the area and get to work!

You’ll find them at (36.1, 26.7) in Costa Del Sol, just look for the quest objective. You’ll receive a cutscene after interacting with Haermaga, who is proud to show off that the Nimble Warrior obstacle course is back. They even added some Uchiwa, from the Far East, that are said to ward off evil spirits.

However, a monster spawns during the conversation, so head over to the nearby location to trigger the next part of the FF14 Moonfire Faire 2024 event. Speak to the Terrified Tourist, and then again to the nearby Sweaty Tourist. Inspect the glittering clue on the ground, and two allies will show up who want to help.

It doesn’t matter what choice you make, but the correct one is about the Cactuar. Memeja will show up and apologize for the whole situation. After the cutscene wraps, you’ll find a Cavorting Cactuar nearby, so click on it. During the cutscene, suggesting getting an Uchiwa to try and ward the evil spirit away from the Cactuar.

With that, the Cactuar gets back to normal, and that’s when you learn there are six other rampaging Cactuar that need to be dealt with to bring the Moonfire Faire quest in FF14 to a close. Add the Uchiwasshoi emote to one of your hotbars and accept the next quest, Festival Fan Frenzy.

Just travel to the nearby red circles, left-click any Cactuar you find, and use the Uchiwasshoi emote by clicking on it on your hotbar or typing out “/uchiwasshoi” and hitting enter. Thankfully, you’re only responsible for two of the Cactuar, and they’re easy to find. Find the two, head back to the quest giver, and hand over the Cactuars.

Head back to the bar to chat with Haermaga to wrap up this quest and enjoy the cutscene. That completes the Moonfire Faire event in FF14 for 2024. The main reward was the Uchiwasshoi emote, which, while not as glamorous as the Phoenix Riser, is a fun emote to have.

The other new reward, the Bouncing Bomb Balloon can be bought for 5,000 gil at the nearby Moonfire Faire vendor, alongside a selection of rewards from previous years. Sorry, the Phoenix Riser is not among them.
