Aether Currents in Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail are the method through which we unlock flight. Unlike some other MMOs, flight is unlocked on a zone-by-zone basis in new expansions. By completing quests - side quests and main story - as well as using the Aether Compass to find green glowing orbs of Aether, we unlock the power of flight. Like most expansions, this will take quite a bit of time.

Some of these Aether Currents in Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail require you to complete side quests (Blue Quests), and others Main Story Quests. It’s also worth mentioning that you might not be able to reach all of these in your first time in a zone - you'll have to return for these later on in the story.

Now that Early Access has begun, players are rushing to explore the Old World. To find Aether Currents in Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail, you can utilize the Aether Compass, which will point you towards the general direction of the closest one. The item is under the Duty tab and the Collection section. You can drag it to one of your Hot Bars for ease of use.

However, since it only gives an approximate location, it will still take a while to pick up all of these orbs. For those who don't want to manually find them, we have listed co-ordiantes to all the Aether Currents we have located so far.
