The Final Fantasy 14 Arcadion Savage raids were released a few days ago, kicking off the World First Race. After the massive success of the Shadowbringers expansion, FFXIV garnered more interest than ever in its high-end raiding scene. This success has led to such events becoming much bigger since the launch of Endwalker.

Several factors led to a massive influx of new players entering FFXIV after 2020. The Final Fantasy 14 World Race is a competition to see which team of eight players can complete the new savage raid tier the fastest. Each tier released by the developers of FFXIV contains four increasingly difficult boss fights that drop unique loot.

Teams apply to the organizers of this race, each comprising two tanks, two healers, and four DPS. The top teams usually feature the best and most renowned MMO players from around the world. These players compete and try to understand the game's mechanics and optimize their damage to beat all four bosses before any other team.

This year's race was the largest by far for the game, with massive viewership and the participation of over 90 teams. Groups were comprised of players from major organizations like Echo, as well as popular streamers like XenosysVex. The competitors played and streamed Final Fantasy 14 from North America, Asia, and Europe.
