Final Fantasy XIV features some truly frustrating reagents to farm, and that includes Corduroy Felt. Used in five recipes total, it only reliably spawns in one location that anyone has found in patch 7.1. If you do want to unlock the cute cosmetic Wintertide Set, you only need a few pieces — but the gear itself commands pretty impressive prices on the Market Board. Depending on your server, it might be cheaper to just buy the gear instead of the Corduroy Felt itself.
This new outfit, unlocked in the Crossroads update, will be one of two things to unlock — either a lot of gil, or a bit of patience. It’s entirely up to you. If you want to find a few pieces of Corduroy Felt in Final Fantasy XIV, here’s what you need to know.
Where to farm Corduroy Felt in Final Fantasy XIV
Corduroy Felt can be found in a specific treasure map in Final Fantasy XIV. You need to buy or farm up Timeworn Br’aaxskin maps, and use them to clear the Cenote Ja Ja Gural special dungeon. You can find drops there, but you will really want to do this in a group. I do not believe this is a map that players can solo just yet.
Your only other option is to either have a friend who has Corduroy Felt they don’t need in Final Fantasy XIV or hit the Market Board. Now, the prices are universally going to be miserable. I’ve seen servers where it costs 3-5M gil per piece of Corduroy Felt! However, on Diabolos, you can get pieces of this fabric from 800,000 gil to at most, 3,500,000 gil. That’s still an outrageous price.
Corduroy Felt is only used in five recipes: four for weavers, and one for leatherworkers. Each one only uses one of the pieces of cloth, and each of these cosmetic pieces of gear can go for 800,000 gil a piece on the Market Board. If you’re farming it, you stand a chance to make a pretty penny in return.
Leatherworking
- Wintertide Shoes
Weaver
- Wintertide Trapper’s Hat
- Wintertide Blouson
- Wintertide Culottes
- Wintertide Sheath Skirt
This gear can be worn by anyone and is purely cosmetic. They have no stats, so you will just make/purchase this stuff, and post it up in your Glamour Chest, so you can wear it anytime.
Unless you’re farming maps, it’s going to be incredibly expensive. If you’re loaded down with tens of millions of gil, I don’t imagine it will hurt your coffers, but if you don’t have a lot of money on hand, it’s time to farm some maps!
