Obtaining Gley makes The First Descendant's Hard Mode Void Intercept battles much easier. Gley is easily the most meta character for bossing in this looter-shooter, but chasing down all of her component blueprints is proportionately difficult. It's not cut out for a beginner, as you'll have to engage Hard-Mode content quite a bit.

In this guide, we will break down how to obtain all of Gley's blueprints and craft her in The First Descendant.

How to unlock Gley in The First Descendant: A step-by-step guide

Like all characters in The First Descendant, Gley can be instantly purchased for 600 Caliber, or approximately $11. If you've been fully F2P up till this point, the minimum amount of money you have to spend in this route is $20 (1060 Caliber pack).

To unlock Gley for free, however, you have to individually craft each of her components by gathering their blueprints. These are:

  • Gley Enhanced Cells
  • Gley Spiral Catalyst
  • Gley Stabilizer
  • Gley Code

We will now go over the fastest known acquisition methods for these individual blueprints.

How to get Gley Enhanced Cells Blueprint

The most efficient way to get Gley Enhanced Cells Blueprint is to farm Amorphous Material Pattern 120. This item has a 25% drop chance in the Vulgus Strategic Outpost located in Convertor Facility, Fortress (Hard Mode).

If you want some extra drops on top (AMP 121, Shape Stabilizer 8), you can try using Sharen. However, if you so wish, waltzing in directly with a full-throttle DPS approach will also work here.

Once you get the AMP 120, it can be opened in the Void Fusion Reactor of Fallen Ark, Fortress (Hard Mode). It requires 34x Monomer Void Shard and 11x Inorganic Void Shard to activate, so make sure to farm 4-5 copies of AMP 120, which will let you make use of the same Reconstructed Device multiple times.

Once you get the blueprint, here's what you need to craft Gley Enhanced Cells:

  • 1x Gley Enhanced Cells Blueprint
  • 246x Monad Shard: Drops from Resource Boxes and Munitions in Kingston
  • 430x Silicon: Drops from Resource Boxes and Munitions in Echo Swamps
  • 38x Cooling Metallic Foil: Drops from Whiet-Night Gulch Encrypted Storage Boxes, Vaults, and various Elite mission monsters (Decoy Operation, Eye of Truth, and so on)
  • Research costs: 200k Gold, 8-Hour Research time

How to get Gley Spiral Catalyst Blueprint

Gley Spiral Catalyst Blueprint has the highest (32%) chance to drop in The following Amorphous Material Patterns in The First Descendant:

  • Amorphous Material Pattern 078
  • Amorhpous Material Pattern 099

AMP 078 is easily the more efficient source, as it has a 100% chance to drop at the end of the Hard-Mode Infiltration Operation 'The Shelter'. If you manage to clear a 40,500 Kill Score, you also get a second guaranteed AMP 078 drop, giving you the biggest bang for your buck.

This Amorphous Material Pattern can only be opened through the Reconstruction Device that appears after the Devourer boss in Hard Mode. Once you have the blueprint, here's everything needed to craft Gley Spiral Catalyst:

  • 1x Gley Spiral Catalyst Blueprint
  • 363x Nanopolymer: Drops from Resource Boxes and Munitions in Agna Desert
  • 408x Ceramic Composite: Drops from Resource Boxes and Munitions in White-Night Gulch
  • 99x Synthesized Artificial Biometal: Drops from Vulgus Outpost Boss in Agna Desert (Vermillion Waste, Miragestone)
  • Research costs: 200k Gold, 8-Hour Research time

How to get Gley Stabilizer Blueprint

The most efficient way to get Gley Stabilizer Blueprint is farming Amorphous Material 047 from the Vulgus Outpost in Frozen Valley, Fortress (Normal Mode).

For the best odds, you should use Sharen to Infiltrate the Outpost undetected. For this, start at the cover behind waypoint D, and then:

  • Activate camouflage.
  • Grapple hook to get into the Outpost, disable D.
  • Swiftly move to C and disable it.
  • Roll to B and disable it too, and immediately grapple-hook to vault across the cover behind it.
  • Wait for your camouflage to reset, and reactivate it to get into the base and disable A.
  • Kill the boss and retreat.
  • Rinse and repeat.

This AMP can be opened at the Void Fusion Reactor in The Frozen Valley itself. This requires 12x Polymer Void Shards and 3x Organic Void Shards. Once you have the blueprint, here are all the materials you need to craft Gley Stabilizer:

  • 1x Gley Stabilizer Blueprint
  • 519x Metal Accelerant: Drops from Resource Boxes in Munitions in Sterile Lands
  • 292x Felctorite: Drops from Resource Boxes and Munitions in White-night Gulch
  • 60x Complex Carbon Activators: Drops from Elite monsters in the Seed Vault Infiltration Operation
  • Research costs: 200k Gold, 8-Hour Research time

How to get Gley Code in The First Descendant

Once you have crafted all three components, the final piece of the puzzle is the Gley Code. This is the easiest to get overall. All you need to do is farm the low-level Magister Lab Infiltration Operation (Normal) in Kingston, which has a guaranteed reward of Amorphous Material Pattern 002.

This AMP can then be opened at the Normal Grave Walker Void Intercept boss. It has a 38% chance to drop the Gley Code when you open it in the Reconstruction Device afterward.

Once you have the Gley Code, go to Anais in Albion one last time to put out a Research Request for the full Descendant. This takes 16 hours and costs 400k Gold. While you're waiting for the research to complete, you can check out our Gley build guide to learn more about her abilities, rotation, and recommended loadout.

That concludes our guide to unlocking Gley in The First Descendant.
