With The Forever Winter Early Access set to go live today (September 24, PST), many will be eager to know its exact release time. This new extraction shooter is the debut offering from Fun Dog Studios, a team of 30 veteran developers who want to innovate and evolve the genre. Particularly, The Forever Winter distinguishes itself by being a hardcore "PvEvE" survival experience in a grimdark war-torn world.
In a Steam blog post yesterday, the developers revealed when the Early Access release is inbound.
The Forever Winter release time on September 24
The Forever Winter will get a PC Early Access release at 12 pm PST / 3 pm EST on September 25. Here's what that release time looks like for various server regions:
- United States: 12 pm PST / 2 pm CST / 3 pm EST (September 24)
- Europe: 7 pm GMT / 9 pm CEST (September 24)
- Asia: 12:30 am IST / 3 am Beijing time / 3 am PHT / 4 am JST/KST (September 25)
- Australia: 5 am AEST / 7 am NZST (September 25)
As mentioned earlier, the release time was confirmed by the developers themselves in an anticipatory blog post on Steam. It's worth mentioning that Steam is the only platform where The Forever Winter Early Access will be available for the time being, priced at $27 (subject to regional pricing variation).
While a console release is a possibility the developers will consider in the future, it's not on the cards yet.
The Forever Winter Early Access release countdown
Since the Steam countdown timer is quite lacking, here's a more precise live countdown for The Forever Winter's early access release time:
Note that there will be a free demo period sometime in October. If you're on the fence regarding the game, you can wait a few more weeks to assess it for free.

Even though it's an online-only game, there's no hassle to worry about server uptimes here. Sessions of The Forever Winter are held in lobbies hosted by users, so it's theoretically possible to play the game even when Fun Dog Studios' servers are offline.
In other words, when the game comes online today, you can purchase, download, and start playing immediately irrespective of server region. While you're waiting for the download to complete, here are 5 reasons to be excited for The Forever Winter.
