Games to try until Skyline Valley releases for Fallout 76
Tom Clancy's The Division 2
Fallout 76 is one of the most well-known looter shooter games out there, and Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is as a great recommendation for games to try before the Skyline Valley update arrives.
The Division 2 features a map of Washington and additional regions like New York, where players can travel to. Just like Fallout 76, this game sees players experience a city that is recovering in the aftermath of an engineered virus outbreak.
During this crisis, players take on the role of a Strategic Homeland Division agent and must work for the restoration of society. The title features notable elements like crafting, scavenging resources from different outlaw-like factions, a third-person perspective, and a ton of weapons.
Remnant: From the Ashes
Remnant: From the Ashes features a setting that Fallout 76 fans will find interesting. It is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth that has been ravaged and invaded by an interdimensional evil dubbed the Root. Players are survivors who must find the core of this evil and destroy it.
Remnant: From the Ashes is said to feature a souls-like experience. However, it isn't exactly souls-like and instead looks inspired by the Dark Souls series. Players get to wield a primary, secondary, and melee weapon and choose between various classes.
Remnant: From the Ashes also allows players to team up in cooperative multiplayer to progress through the game. The difficulty here is based upon the number of people playing.
Borderlands 3
Borderlands 3 is another addition to the looter-shooter genre that fans of Fallout 76 will appreciate. It gets a spot on this list thanks to some of its noteworthy elements.
The first noteworthy feature is its first-person perspective, which is intertwined with a coop multiplayer aspect. Players can take on missions in groups of up to four individuals chosen from the four featured classes.
Other elements that reflect the same style as previous games of the Fallout series include quests, loot drops from dead adversaries, and unique chests. Another unique feature of this title is its procedurally generated weapons, which tend to vary in aspects like damage, magazine capacity, and range.
Metro Exodus
Like Fallout 76, Metro Exodus features a world that has been devastated by nuclear war. It follows the events of the previous game in the series, Metro: Last Light.
Many portions of the globe have become uninhabitable due to radiation, forcing the creation of settlements and dividing humanity into factions of various types. These factions frequently go against one another while trying to survive the onset of mutants.
Metro Exodus takes place across the span of an in-game year, and the landscapes vary as the seasons pass. The title features linear objectives and vast, open areas for players to forage for materials. The protagonist can fight foes using various weapons and some unique items like the Helsing Crossbow and Tikhar.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
Set in a dystopian cyberpunk-themed universe, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will take fans of Fallout 76 on a rollercoaster journey through the eyes of the protagonist V. Although Phantom Liberty is a DLC of the base game, Cyberpunk 2077, it features various elements that earn it a spot on this list.
Phantom Liberty takes place in a new city called Dogtown, and players will come across various new characters and missions. The DLC also features a new skill tree called the Relic, which has nine special skills.
Additionally, the expansion introduces vehicular combat to the game, which allows players to drive cars loaded with heavy weaponry.
