Throne and Liberty allows you to change your character’s name and appearance, even after you’ve already begun playing the game. However, it’s not free. Many MMOs offer such features as secondary, paid services. Since this free-to-play game doesn’t feature specific classes or races, you will be free to make your character look however you want.

However, this feature is not yet available - the early access period has locked off Lucent purchases until launch. Once the full game is released on October 1, 2024, you will be able to change your character's name and appearance. This guide explains how to do so.

How to change your name in Throne and Liberty

You can change your name in Throne and Liberty by heading to your character info screen (“P” on the keyboard). Look to the top-left of your screen, and you should see a little pencil next to your current character name. If you hover it, it says that you need a Rename Scroll to use this feature.

This will set you back 250 Lucent, which is a paid currency used at the Shop and Auction House. Once you have a scroll, press “P” on your keyboard, click that pencil icon, and type in your new name.

You can also change your appearance in Throne and Liberty. To do this, press F11 to bring up your menu. Look under the “Character” section, and click Mirror Boutique. This offers you the ability to change your appearance, outfit, weapon appearance, and much more. Select Change Appearance and it will pull up the original character creation suite.

However, this also requires an Appearance Change Ticket. It costs 250 Lucent, so a 500 Lucent purchase will unlock both your name and appearance. Fortunately, you can make all your changes in the appearance change menu and decide if you’re happy with it before committing to using your ticket in this free-to-play MMO.
