Farming cloth as a tailor in WoW The War Within can be downright frustrating. However, a method has recently been uncovered that allows you to easily farm cloth even if you’re a fresh level 70 or so. As long as you have the Tailoring skill, this grind can be completed easily. The method was originally introduced by WoW content creator Broog before being confirmed by several other players, myself included.

The best part about this is that you don’t have to wade through large areas, desperately trying to find enough humanoids to kill. This puts you right in front of several packs that can be killed with literally no effort. To farm cloth in WoW The War Within, here’s what you need to do.

Most efficient cloth farm in WoW The War Within

To perform this cloth farm in WoW The War Within, you need a tailor of any class, access to the Darkflame Cleft dungeon, and follower dungeons. With this in mind, it also helps to have access to Adventure Mode so you can immediately start grinding on a level 70 or higher if you want.

Before beginning this WoW The War Within cloth farm method, it’s recommended that you have at least 90 Knowledge Points (30 in Textile Treasures, 30 in Quality Fabric, 30 in From Dawn Until Dusk). This increases the amount and quality of fabric you’re farming. Specifically, From Dawn Until Dusk allows you the ability to also pick up Dawnweave and Duskweave.

Even if you have zero points in From Dawn Until Dusk, at least select it. That way, you can pick Dawnweave or Duskweave. Now, I didn’t do that because I performed this on a fresh 70, but that is how I plan to set up my early Knowledge Points.

The way you do this is really simple: Queue for Darkflame Cleft as a Follower Dungeon and clear the first two rooms. Then, loot the bodies, leave, and queue again. This method can be completed easily regardless of what class or spec you are.

The NPCs will do the brunt of the work if you’re weak, and it only takes a couple of minutes, tops. You can even set up the script below to speed up the process, courtesy of Solheim Gaming:

  • /script C_PartyInfo.LeaveParty()
  • /click LFDQueueFrameFindGroupButton

What this macro does is re-queue you for the dungeon, and exit you. This makes things a little faster. I did this as a Fire Mage, which is a mediocre DPS class - but still incredibly fun to play. I was picking up 5-6 Weavercloth a run, which isn’t too bad. It gets even better when you’ve got points to invest in your Knowledge Points. If you’re also doing it for exp, you could simply clear the whole dungeon.

You will face enemies that aren’t humanoids (so no cloth), but it’s not a bad idea anyway. I stick to clearing the first room or two, personally. If you get locked out for running it too many times, hop on an alt or wait it out.

Either way, this is easily the best way to farm cloth right now. This process could be nerfed in the future, but for now, it’s the top-tier method - whether you’re doing this to earn gold or to improve your craft.
