How to easily farm Low-Carbon Activator in The First Descendant

Low-Carbon Activator is a rare (purple-rarity) basic material in The First Descendant. It is essential for crafting Energy Activators, which are critical for progress. So, as a long-term player, you'll need to farm a lot of this resource. Thankfully, after a specific change introduced in Season 1, farming this resource has become much easier than before.

In this guide, we'll explain the most up-to-date way to efficiently farm Low-Carbon Activator in The First Descendant.

Fastest Low-Carbon Activator farm in The First Descendant, explained

To farm Low-Carbon Activator in The First Descendant fast and easy, all you have to do is spam the Abyssal Void Fusion Reactor in Kingston (Hard Mode). It is located at the north-eastern edge of the region, a scene you'd be familiar with from the Kingston Resource Defense operation.

With some luck, you can net about 250 Low-Carbon Activators per minute with this farm, making it the fastest method to get this resource in The First Descendant.

You might be wondering what makes this the most efficient method all of a sudden. The answer lies in two successive changes implemented in the game. First and foremost, with the Season 1 patch, Void Fusion Reactor activation no longer requires Void Shards, allowing you to spam the activity risk-free.

The other change is even older. The Void Reactor boss has been much easier to kill since The First Descendant hotfix 1.0.7. This essentially lets you beat and repeat the activity within 10-15 seconds. The Reactor spawns two mini-bosses (Elite monsters), each with a chance of dropping 17-25 Low-Carbon Activator.

There's always a chance for them to not drop it at all, with a bunch of weapon drops, Kuiper Shards, Gold, and Reactors crowding the loot pool instead. Still, the chance is high enough for it to make the fastest farm by a mile. So, it is advised to stick to the routine even if you get unlucky a few times.

If you haven't unlocked Hard Mode yet, this method also works on the regular version of the Kingston Reactor. In this case, your total yield will be roughly half as much, but this early in the game, that's still a lot of Low-Carbon Activators.

There's no specific Descendant needed to make this work. All you need is a well-modded weapon, including stop-gap solutions such as Eternal Willpower. You can also go for the usual bossing builds such as a Lepic build for his Ult.
