Unique weapon enhancement is something all mid-game players should look into

Ultimate weapons in The First Descendant come with unique abilities you can enhance. These abilities are the definitive gimmicks that can make or break their useability, so you should definitely utilize this mechanic to upgrade your favorite ultimate weapons. Unlike enhancing module capacity or altering a socket, this doesn't require a consumable item — just a duplicate of the weapon.

This guide will go over how you can enhance the unique ability of an Ultimate weapon in The First Descendant.

To Enhance the Unique ability of your Ultimate weapon in the First Descendant, go to any Workbench, and then select the Enhance Unique Ability option. You can find them in allied field outposts, but there's also one near Deslin, the weapon vendor in Albion.

Now, all you need for this enhancement process is a duplicate of the Ultimate weapon. If it's a Noziestra's Devotion you want to upgrade, you need a copy of it to make the first one stronger.

Additionally, the process costs an increasing amount of Gold for each additional level of enhancement. For the first one, you'll need to spend 50,000 Gold.

Unique abilities can be enhanced in The First Descendant a total of four times. This means you need to craft four additional copies of your preferred Ultimate weapon if you want to get the most out of this mechanic.

While Caliber in The First Descendant can be used to get past a lot of verticle progression mechanics, Unique ability enhancement is not one of them. Thankfully, the Gold cost is not that high for the upgrades, and the only resource grind for them involves hunting down more Ultimate weapon parts and blueprints.

The grind is worth it, as the system makes Unique procs meaningfully better in many cases. For example, with Ultimate weapons like Fallen Hope that have AoE capabilities, the range of explosion increases with each level of Unique ability enhancement.

It's worth mentioning that you get a free Unique ability enhancement for Thunder Cage as part of a side-quest from Descendant Instructor.
