The Bulbdog in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration is one of the newest creatures added with this DLC. It resembles a mix between a Pug and an Anglerfish, giving it a look that is cute and ugly at the same time, as described in the official in-game Dossier. This creature shares many similarities with the Shinehorn in terms of functionality, including its role as a shoulder pet.

The Bulbdog typically spawns in the Fertile regions of the ARK Survival Ascended Aberration map, including areas like the Mushroom Forest, River Valley, and The Fallen Nexus. These areas are located in the uppermost section of the map.

Taming a Bulbdog in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration is quite straightforward as it uses the Passive Taming method that doesn't require any complex setup. Additionally, the Bulbdog is neither skittish nor aggressive, so it won't run away or attack you during the taming process.

To tame a Bulbdog, you will need its preferred food. The best option here is the Plant Species Z seeds, which drop from pink plants with tentacle-like limbs found around the map. Alternatively, you can also use Aggeravic Mushrooms or various types of meat.

Place the necessary food item in the rightmost slot of your hotbar and approach a Bulbdog. When it’s hungry, the option to feed will appear. After each feeding, there is a cooldown period until it becomes hungry again. Repeat this a few times to successfully tame the creature.

The Bulbdog has an antenna on its head that emits light when turned on. This light consumes charge, which scares off Nameless and weakens Reapers, helping to prevent ambushes. However, it also attracts Seekers and can only recharge when the light is turned off.

Additionally, the Bulbdog defecates frequently, which can be useful if you have a wandering Dung Beetle at your base to convert the dung into fertilizer.

Finally, this creature can notify you of nearby max-level dinos and enemy players and reduce the weight of items in its inventory by 50 percent.`
