You can make searching easy with a fast and strong underwater tame. Simply jump on your aquatic tame and make your way to the dark blue parts of the ocean in the map. Note that various aggressive monsters surround the Dunkleosteus; be careful before you approach one.

Everything you need for taming a Dunkleosteus
Taming a Dunkleosteus can be a lengthy process. The large fish is a knock-out tame, but it’s difficult to do so because of its heavy armor. Keep tranq arrows handy to knock the beast down. Also, carry a strong underwater tame such as a Sarco for safe measures. Here’s everything you need to tame a Dunkleosteus.
- 100-150 Tranq Arrows (Carry extra in case you miss some or encounter a high-level Dunkly).
- SCUBA Armor (The taming process requires you to stay inside water for a long time; hence, you need the SCUBA Armor).
- A Crossbow.
- Several Narcotic, around 80, should do the trick.
- A strong underwater tame such as a Sarco or a Ichythosaurus.
- Superior Kibble or Raw Mutton.

Dunkleosteus taming method
After preparing for the taming and gathering all the required items, you can start taming the monster. Here’s what you need to do to tame the Dunkleosteus.
- Once you locate the fist, start securing the area by taking out all the aggressive beats.
- Now, start attacking the Dunkly using the Tranq arrows and Crossbow.
- Follow the Fish around and keep attacking its body with the Tranq arrows; this will take some time as the Dunkleosteus takes decreased damage.
- You will see various other fish spawning in the area, avoid them and keep attacking the Dunkly.
- Once knocked out, approach it and put Superior Kibble or Raw Mutton in its inventory.
- Keep an eye on its torpor level and force-feed it narcotics if it drops more than half.
- After everything has been done properly, you will finally have tamed a Dunkleosteus in ARK Survival Ascended.
Now, use a Dunkleosteus Sadlle to ride it back to your base or make it follow the tame you came with.
