To increase your weapon DPS in The First Descendant, Action and Reaction is a mod you should farm at your earliest convenience. This purple-rarity Module can increase your Firearm ATK by up to 61%, stacking additively with Rifling Reinforcement. As a tradeoff, it increases your per-shot recoil, but this downside can be mitigated easily.
In this guide, we will show you the best places to farm each variant of Action and Reaction in The First Descendant.
How to get the Action and Reaction mod in The First Descendant
There are six variants of the Action and Reaction module in The First Descendant. Three variants are exclusive to Impact, Special, or General Rounds guns, while three more can only be installed on each Special Rounds weapon subclass. The best spots to farm each of these have been detailed below.
Launcher-exclusive Action and Reaction drop location
To get this variant of Action and Reaction, complete the Void Fusion Reactor in The Ruins, Vespers.
- Drop Chance: 15% on Normal mode (Monster lvl 24, requires 11x Polymer Void Shard, 4x Monomer Void Shard), 30% on Hard mode (Monster lvl 100, requires 34x Polymer Void Shard, 11x Monomer Void Shard).
If you don't want to farm Void Shards, various monsters in The Ruins also have a slight chance to drop it. Running a lot of battlefield missions in this area will eventually net you this variant of the mod.

Shotgun-Exclusive Action and Reaction drop location
To get the Shotgun-Exclusive Action and Reaction variant in The First Descendant, you have to hit up the Vulgus Strategic Outpost in Dune Base, Hagios.
- Drop Chance: 25% on Normal mode (Monster lvl 66), 30% on Hard mode
The Vulgus Strategic Outpost goes on a 3-minute cooldown after you destroy it once. You can either fast-travel to Albion and then fast-travel back to reset it, or you can take on various other missions in Dune Base, as all monsters have a slight chance to drop it.
Sniper-exclusive Action and Reaction drop location
To get the Sniper variant of Action and Reaction, farm the Vulgus Strategic Outpost in Defense Line, Fortress.
- Drop Chance: 27.5% on Normal mode (Monster lvl 91), 30% on Hard mode (Monster lvl 100).
Various other monsters in Defense Line battlefield missions can also drop Sniper-exclusive Action and Reaction, so you can try out the Fortress Command Entrance mission for an alternative farming method.

General Rounds Action and Reaction drop location (SMGs, Assault Rifles, Machine Guns, and Hand Cannons)
To farm the Action and Reaction mod variant compatible with General Rounds, you have to do the Large Nuclear Reactor mission in Classified Area, Sterile Lands. The chance to get this mod per completion is 30% on Hard mode, but only 12.5% on Normal.
Impact Rounds Action and Reaction drop location (Scout Rifles, Hand Cannons)
The best place to farm the Impact Rounds-exclusive Action and Reaction in The First Descendant is to destroy the Void Fragment in Miragestone, Agna Desert on Hard Mode.
This mission has a 30% chance of dropping the module on Hard, but only 20% on Normal. Only Non-Attribute skills can damage this specific Void Shard, so make sure to bring a fitting Descendant such as Valby.
