How to get Crude Oil in Once Human 

Crude Oil in Once Human is one of the main necessities you must understand and acquire to make your vehicles function. This substance can be turned into fuel using a Refinery. However, before you can refine Crude Oil into fuel, you must find a suitable place to extract it from the ground as well as fulfill some other prerequisites.

The process is somewhat complex, but following certain things will help you gather this resource as simply as possible. This article shares all the information you need to start farming Crude Oil in Once Human.

Where to find Crude Oil in Once Human?

Crude Oil is a resource that must be extracted straight from the source, much like water in Once Human. Finding a source of Crude Oil is not that complex. Simpy search your map for the symbols of Oil Extractors. The area around an Oil Extractor is an oil field where you can extract crude oil.

Besides spotting Extractors, keep an eye out for black patches on the map or black shiny river-like terrain, as these are also oil fields. Once you spot an ideal location, move your territory near it. The area with the highest density of Oil Fields is Red Sands. While you can move your territory there, take note of the fact that this is going to be a highly contested area—especially around Oil Fields—in the PvP mode.

How to extract Crude Oil in Once Human?

Once you've found your place and moved your territory, the next step is to start pumping oil from the ground. To do that, you'll need the following pieces of machinery:

• Water Pumps - Unlock them in Tier 3 of the Logistics tree in Memetic.
• Power Source - You can unlock power sources in the Logistics tab. The best choice is Solar Power.
• Fuel Refinery - Unlock the Refinery in Tier 2 of the Infrastructure tab in Memetic.

Once your territory is set, start building Water Pumps and place them directly on the Oil Fields. To power them, you'll need a power source. While you can use any source you want, we recommend solar power in Once Human as you'll get ample amounts of sunlight in the Red Sands.

Once connected to a power source, the pump will start extracting oil. You can collect the Crude Oil from the pumps and process it using the Fuel Refinery to start making Portable Mixed Fuel. You can make 5 Portable Mixed Fuel for every 10 Crude Oil in Once Human.
