Getting the HP Collector module in The First Descendant can take a long time if RNG is not on your side, but it is worth the grind. This golden-rarity (Ultimate) module is one of the only universal forms of life-leech in the game, granting you a chunk of HP for an enemy kill every 11 seconds. In other words, it can be a good sustain tool for characters with high HP and DEF.
In this guide, we will go over how to get the HP Collector module in The First Descendant.
The First Descendant HP Collector Module farming guide
The earliest way to get the HP Collector module is to farm the Frontline Base Mission in Vespers (The Lumber Yard). This is an Extermination mission you can do within two minutes if you have a mobbing Descendant like Bunny.
After clearing it, there is a 2% chance you can get the HP Collector mod as a bonus reward. However, you can also complete the Frontline Base mission in Hard Mode to increase this chance to 5%.
If you don't get it, you can hold down F2 and R to restart the mission immediately. Given the low chances even on hard mode, it could turn into a long grind. However, this mission also drops many Data Processing Neural Circuits, an ingredient for Crystalization Catalysts.
In Hard Mode, many missions in Vespers and Agna Desert drop this mod, but the Frontline Base mission has the highest chance. If you are running in a squad, you can also bring an under-leveled Descendant to farm XP here.
In case you don't want to spam the same battlefield mission over and over again, there is an alternative method. This is the Caligo Ossuary Infiltration mission, which unlocks once you clear The Mining Site battlefield in the Agna Desert. Any monster with a buff can drop the mod in this mission, although the overall chance is much lower.

When should you use HP Collector in The First Descendant?
HP Collector can specifically make mobbing Descendants much easier to sustain. However, you should mod for Max HP with a good amount of DEF. Generally, for squishier characters like Bunny, you want to stack DEF-boosting External Components.
The mod is arguably less necessary on tanks. A properly equipped Ajax build, for example, will seldom need anything more than the occasional health orb.
