The best sport for farming Kuiper Shards in The First Descendant is the Kuiper Mine mission in Sterile Land (Repository area) in Hard Mode. On average, this farm will net you 15k Kuiper Shards in around 5 minutes.

Once you kill the initial Vulgus spawns, activate the terminal and focus on killing the mobs that spawn around its immediate vicinity. Ignore the mission objective altogether, as failing the mission does not have any tangible penalties.

You can do this farm with a high-range Valby or Bunny build:

• With Bunny, activate the terminal and run circles around the glass floor. You can also roll around instead of running, as long as you can keep proccing Lightning Emission.
• With Valby, run around the outer circles of the structure - creating a big puddle around the area.

Other than the high yield, the Kuiper Mines farming strat comes with the added benefit of clumping all your Kuiper Shard drops in a small area.

Most of the popular Kuiper Shard farming spots in The First Descendant are locked behind Hard Mode. However, there's still a couple of options on Normal Mode if you've not progressed that far with the campaign.

This farm can yield anything from 5k to 8k Kuiper Shards within 5 minutes, depending on the efficiency of your squad. If you're going solo, expect it to be 1k Shards per minute on average. On top of this, the Elite grunts also drop Advanced Neural Circuitry as a bonus farm.

How to dismantle mods to get Kuiper Shards in The First Descendant

In all of these farms, you'll also pick up a lot of normal and rare Modules. Silion (Module Master) can break these down in Albion for a bulk return of Kuiper Shards. This is what you want to do:

• Go to Silion, located near Anais in Albion
• Click on 'Dismantle Modules'
• Hold down shift to auto-select all duplicate Modules you have, then Dismantle them.

The First Descendant does not have player-to-player trading, so duplicate modules do not hold much value - unless you want to keep Modules of different ranks to fit into leveling builds. After all, Module capacity is a real problem and goodies like Energy Activators are not easy to farm.

Keep an eye out for Kuiper Shard Gain Tickets

Occasionally, you will come across Extra Kuiper Shard Gain Tickets, from the Battle Pass, or as gifts from the developers. For a variable duration, this gives +30% Kuiper Shards from all sources.
