The Reaper in Ark Survival Ascended is one of the most dangerous and terrifying creatures on the Aberration map. Reapers can perform powerful melee attacks, throw acid spit, and taunt enemies. This makes them among the most effective tameable creatures in-game. However, taming a Reaper is a very difficult task.
Adult Reapers can't be tamed; players need to claim a newborn Reaper to tame them. The process of getting or "birthing" a baby Reaper is just as horrifying as the creature itself. Similar to Xenomorphs from the legendary Alien movies, Reapers also impregnate their prey with their offspring, and when the baby is ready to be born, it emerges by ripping out the victim’s chests.
In this article, we have shared how you can get a Reaper in ARK Survival Ascended's Aberration map.
Best locations to get impregnated by a Reaper in ARK Survival Ascended
To get a tamed Reaper for yourself, you will need to bear a baby Reaper embryo inside you and let it burst out of your chest. You can only get impregnated by a Reaper Queen. To find a Reaper Queen, you will have to journey all the way to the south of the map. This area is called the Halls of the Reaper.

This area is highly radioactive; you will need to have a Hazard Suit to survive. Once you are in the location, carefully explore to find the Queen. They spawn in random locations in the area, so you may have to search for a bit. Keep in mind that Reaper Queens aren't the only threat in this area, so be cautious.
How to tame a Reaper in ARK Survival Ascended
Once you locate a Reaper Queen, you must push her to the edge of death. Fighting a Reaper Queen is no easy task; try to bring as many traps as you can to halt the beast and shoot it with ease. Bringing a powerful mount is highly recommended. The Rock Drake is the best choice.
Once you damage the Queen to the brink of death, she spawns a pink cloud around her. When she creates the cloud, climb down from your mount and go close to her. She will perform a special attack with her tail to insert her offspring inside you. If she doesn't do it, try to light attack her a few more times.

Once she impregnates you, she will dig a hole in the ground and despawn. When the embryo is inside you, the gestation process will begin. During this time, all the experience you gain will be absorbed by the baby. The baby can reach a level up to 75 higher than the Reaper Queen who impregnated you.
This period will last 12 real-world hours. The 12-hour period will progress only when you are logged in to the game. When it's done, the baby will burst out of your chest violently, leaving you with 1 HP. In the moments between its birth and you claiming it, the baby Reaper will attack everything, including you, potentially reducing your 1 HP to 0 HP and killing you.
The best strategy is to make a pen with a raised platform and give birth while standing on the platform so the baby will drop into the pen. Then you can heal yourself and claim it. You will need a Reaper Pheromone Gland to interact with it and imprint on it.

All Reaper abilities in ARK Survival Ascended explained
The Reaper introduced in Ark Survival Ascended is superior compared to its Survival Evolved counterpart. It is because the new Reaper King scales with the player’s level. This means the more levels and experience you gain in the game, the more your Reaper will become stronger.
