How to get Repton in The First Descendant

Repton is a common resource in The First Descendant. As is typical of a looter-shooter, the game has numerous resources that act as ingredients for crafting characters and weapons. Repton specifically falls in the lowest 'tier' of resource, meaning it can be farmed in large quantities, but a proportionately large quantity is needed to research stuff.

Even though it's supposed to be common, lower-tier resources in The First Descendant can drop from only specific regions or sources. Repton is not an exception to this rule, and in this guide, we'll go over the fastest way to farm it.

How to farm Repton in The First Descendant

To farm Repton in The First Descendant, you have to break Resource Boxes or open Munitions in the Kingston Region. Resource Boxes are yellow boxes that you can break with gunfire, melee, or AoE (Area of Effect) abilities, while Munitions are canisters that have to be kicked open by interacting with them.

Each Resource Box or Munition in Kingston will drop either Monad Shards or Repton. As it's the starting area, you will have access to these resources very early on, but the amount the two sources drop is quite low.

To farm a lot of Repton fast, you have to unlock Hard Mode and play Kingston in that mode. This is because the resource drop amount in The First Descendant scales based on the enemy level in an area.

If you haven't unlocked this mode yet, your best bet is doing the Albion Resource Defense mission from the Special Operations terminal in Albion. This mission has four Munition canisters and two Resource Boxes near the operation field. These respawn every 90 seconds, so make sure to go around and collect loot once every two waves.

How much Repton do you need in The First Descendant?

As of Season 1, you need a little less than 4000 Repton in The First Descendant to build every component that requires it. This includes the new Descendant Hailey, several Ultimate Weapon parts, as well as Valby and her Ultimate.

The biggest resource drain is building Ultimate Bunny and Ultimate Valby, which require 949 Repton each.
