Getting a Sap in ARK Survival Ascended is easy, especially with the arrival of Aberration. The new map features an abundance of Redwood trees where you can get the resource. To harvest Sap, you need to craft a tool called the Tree Sap Tap. This should not be a problem as its crafting materials are pretty easy to obtain.
This article will walk you through the process of getting Sap in ARK Survival Ascended, as well as the recipes you can craft with it.
How to obtain Sap in ARK Survival Ascended
As mentioned, you need a Tree Sap Tap to get Sap from the Redwood Tree in ARK Survival Ascended.

To craft a Tree Sap Tap, you need to be at least Level 36 with the following ingredients:
- 100x Metal Ingot or Scarp Metal Ingot
- 40x Cementing Paste or Achatina Paste
Crafting the Tree Sap Tap requires 18 Engram Points.
Once you are done crafting your Tree Sap Tap, find a Redwood Tree in the Redwood Forests. As mentioned, these trees are abundant in ARK Survival Ascended's Aberration map, so you should be able to find one in no time.
Note that you need to look for mature Redwood Trees to get Sap, which are characterized by their deep red bark.
Install the Tree Sap Tap below the canopy and at least 11 units above the ground. You can use a Tree Platform, a ladder, a grappling hook, or walls, to reach this height.
Once you have placed your Tree Sap Tap, you need to wait patiently. Depending on the amount of Sap you need, you have to wait for up to six hours to fill the maximum capacity of the tool.
One Tree Sap Tap can collect up to 30 Sap in ARK Survival Ascended over a period of six hours. The Tap collects one Sap every 10 minutes and 20 seconds.
Note that if you place two Tree Sap Taps in one tree, the rate at which a tap collects a sap is 50% slower.
