The Black Lotus in WoW Classic is a very profitable herb that players can farm to earn gold. This gatherable item can be rather challenging to get, however, so it's important that you know the best ways to obtain it.

There are a few good areas to start looking for a Black Lotus when pathing out a farm route. The best areas include Winterspring, Silithus, Burning Steppes, and Eastern Plaguelands. Which of these areas is best for you will depend on your server, what class you're playing, and the faction you've sided with.

It's important to note that Blizzard has increased both the spawn rate and number of locations where the Black Lotus can spawn. If you are a vanilla WoW player coming to Classic, farming these will be far easier than you remember.

In this guide, we're going to outline the best places to gather the Black Lotus in WoW Classic as well as tips and tricks to doing so efficiently.

When looking for the best place to gather the Black Lotus, it's recommended that you start with Winterspring. This is the most accessible location for all classes, factions, and levels of experience with gathering. You can path this map by starting at the Southern or Western tip and working your way around the edge to each location.

The next place to check is Silithus. It is a more difficult map to route but one that has more spawn locations available. The spawn locations on this map are much more spread out, as opposed to Winterspring which contains a simple loop. There are also many more enemies guarding the Lotus areas that you'll have to contend with. This is a particularly good map if you intend to gather on either a WoW Classic Shaman or Hunter.

If you're an Alliance player then you should definitely try the Burning Steppes as an option for farming Black Lotus. It isn't the most efficient map on our list but its simplicity and ease can compensate for that difference. Just a quick flight over from Stormwind, and with a stronger likelihood that you won't encounter Horde, this map is great if you want a quick easy farm. The spawn locations are largely centered around the main road as well, making it a simple map to route for a farm.

The final map on our list is Eastern Plaguelands, the most difficult area of the four by a wide margin. You will probably only want to use this map if the other three are too populated on your server or at certain times of day. This map features the most heavily guarded Black Lotus spawn points, some of which even have elites for you to deal with. If you're farming here it's best to play a WoW Classic Hunter, bring invisibility potions, or have a six demon bag for a pet to distract enemies with.
