The Potent Collector mod is quickly becoming a staple in a handful of meta builds in The First Descendant. This gold-rarity 'Support Tech' mod can quickly fill up the custom resource of numerous Descendants. While it drops from Hard-Mode Intercept bosses Executioner and Gluttony, there are ways you can get it without progressing that far.
In this guide, we will share what we found to be the easiest method to obtain the Potent Collector mod.
How to farm Potent Collector in The First Descendant
The fastest way to get the Potent Collector module in The First Descendant is by farming the DNA Detector Spray Zone mission in Shipment Base, White-Night Gulch. In Hard Mode, this mission has a 5% chance to grant you the desired mod upon mission completion.
This is one of the game's rare platforming-centric missions. You have to collect 40 Golden orbs and move to the extraction zone. Any Descendant can do this in under 90 seconds as long as you have a Mid-Air Maneuver mod to get around quickly.
It is even easier if you are in a party. Put two party members on the Vulgus structures atop the two ridges, and one near the mission start. When the mission starts, each can collect some of the orbs near them, and it will take less than a minute to hit the finish line.
Most can expect to get the Potent Collector mod in about 15 runs, while a more unlucky party might need to spend up to an hour and a half farming this mission on repeat.

What does the Potent Collector mod in The First Descendant do?
At max rank, the Potent Collector mod grants a 13% chance to refill 12.2% of your custom resource upon scoring a kill. In The First Descnedant, only five characters have 'custom resource' that count towards this:
- Bunny (Electricity)
- Ajax (Void Energy)
- Kyle (Magnetic Force)
- Luna (Inspiration Gauge)
- Gley (Power of Life)
The Potent Collector mod is only worthwhile if your setup is good at mobbing. For example, any well-optimized Bunny build becomes far more self-sufficient with this, as you won't have to rely on movement to regain Electricty after you activate Lightning Emission.

Moreover, the Potent Collector is a Xantic Socket type module that takes 22000 Kuiper Shards and ten times as much Gold to max out, making it a viable investment even for mid-game players.
