Diablo 4’s Wildheart Hunger is an amazing Unique for Druids that focuses on the power of shapeshifting. There are many builds that require you to be in either Werebear or Werewolf form, so this item can be seen as a must-have. Whether Landslide, Zoo, Storm Claw, Shred or Earth Spike, so many Druid builds can be made better with this item in your armory.
That said, Wildheart Hunger, introduced during Season 4 of Diablo 4 can be a little difficult to farm. There’s only one boss that has it in their loot table, but there are other ways to try and grab a copy.
Here’s what you need to know about Wildheart Hunger.
Where to farm Wildheart Hunger in Diablo 4
You can farm Wildheart Hunger in Diablo 4 from Lord Zir, one of the game’s Uber bosses. This means you’ll need to farm some Exquisite Blood to use in the summoning process.
Lord Zir can be found at The Ancient Seat inside The Darkened Way Dungeon (Fractured Peaks). Bring 9 (or more) Exquisite Blood with you to the summoning altar, and you can fight this boss.
You can also choose to fight the level 200 “Tormented” version, but that takes 27x Exquisite Blood and 1x Stygian Stone per summoning. This won’t guarantee you a copy of Wildheart Hunger, but Lord Zir does have it in his loot table. Thankfully, he’s essentially the easiest of the Uber bosses, so it won’t take much effort to farm him.
Other than that, there’s a wealth of end-game activities that this item can drop from. You can take part in the new Infernal Hordes mode, Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, World Bosses, or simply playing seasonal content. Each season has several treasure chests that drop, and you could wind up with Wildheart Hunger dropping from one.
What are Wildheart Hunger’s unique effects in Diablo 4?
Wildheart Hunger has some very useful stats and effects in Diablo 4. While equipping it, Attacks reduce Evade’s Cooldown by 1.5s. It also grants more Movement Speed, +Ranks of Heightened Senses, Shapeshifting Attack Speed, and Cold Resistance. However, it has one more useful function:
“When you Shapeshift into a Werewolf or Werebear, you gain Wildheart for 5 seconds. Wildheart grants you 1.0-3.0% stacking damage every 0.0 seconds, up to 20.0-60.0%.”
If you can keep the shapeshifting up, you can stack some truly impressive bonus damage from Wildheart Hunger. It’s not the absolute most powerful item for Druids, but it certainly is viable in a wealth of builds.
