Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred brings more than just a new character class and endgame content - it also has a lengthy story for players to follow. There’s a reason we’re all trekking down into the jungles of Nahantu. That said, we won’t be spoiling the story here. If you're wondering how long it takes to beat Vessel of Hatred, that varies from player to player. It took us between 12-14 hours based on our experiences playing through the expansion before our review went live.
The time taken to beat the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred campaign also depends on several factors - are you grinding extra content like the Kurast Undercity or also doing seasonal content? If you’re just focused on getting to the end of the story, we will explain how long that will take.
How long does it take to beat Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred?
Completing Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred’s new campaign - Act VII - will likely take 12 to 14 hours, provided you’re just focusing on the story. It took me about 12 hours, stretched across two days, to get from the beginning of the story leveling up my Spiritborn to reaching the final boss of the expansion. It’s only one chapter of content, but it's a lengthy story nonetheless.
Sadly, Vessel of Hatred isn’t as long as the main Diablo 4 campaign by half - that took closer to 20-30 hours to complete from start to finish. The duration is based on you not taking time out to work on Season 6 content, grind through Undercity runs, or take part in the many side quests the expansion offers.
This also doesn’t account for the post-game campaign quest, Deeds of a Champion. This lengthy quest chain will send you all across the world of Sanctuary, unlocking and taking part in all endgame activities, as well as unlocking all Mercenaries if you haven’t already.
Completing side quests, repeatable activities, and seasonal content gives the game a much longer life beyond the expansion’s main story campaign. You even have the multi-man raid, Dark Citadel, which is a reward from the Deeds of a Champion quest chain.
If you’re focused on completing the story and nothing else, you should be done in around 12 hours. However, it could take much longer if you take the time to explore everything Nahantu has to offer.
