Throne and Liberty’s number of playable races might be disappointing, but the morphs make for some interesting world exploration. Through the morphs system, players can shapeshift into a variety of animals, whether they want to play through the sky or dive deep into the water. Players can also shapeshift into other races to disguise themselves, but that doesn’t count as a playable race option.
While it is worth noting that this free-to-play MMO could change in the future, your current options are slim when it comes to playable races in Throne and Liberty. Should that change, we’ll update this accordingly. But for now, you have to be human.
Throne and Liberty only features one playable race: Humans
Unfortunately, the only playable race in Throne and Liberty is a Human. This could change somewhere down the line, but for now, the only option is to play as a human in this free-to-play MMO. It was that way in the April test, as well as previous ones. Sadly, it’s not likely to change anytime soon.
The upcoming open beta will feature a feedback form, so if enough people make their voices heard, it could change, but right now, if you want to play Throne and Liberty, you have to be a human.
Throne and Liberty features a useful Morph system to make travel faster
Fortunately, you don’t have to be human all the time in Throne and Liberty, thanks to the morph system. There’s a fairly long list of currently known morphs, though this is from the April global test. This number could increase or decrease, depending on what is available in the upcoming open beta.
Morphs let you shapeshift into a wide variety of creatures, some of which allow you to travel the land in a much easier manner. Glide Morphs, for example, let you fly and move faster while in the air. You can even jump off cliffs/platforms and transform in mid-air.
Conversely, Swim Morphs let you dive into water and take the shape of an animal more suited to swift swimming. There are also Dash Morphs, for faster, land-based travel. Below is a list of all currently known Morphs, though this may need an update after the July 2024 open beta takes place:
