Mod Conversion in Once Human is a new feature introduced with patch 1.1. It is available at Level 40 for Novice Servers in Season 1 and will be unlocked from the start in Season 2 and beyond. This endgame system allows you to craft a Legendary mod and guarantee its first suffix by spending other unenhanced gold mods and a certain amount of Energy Links.
This guide covers everything you need to know about Mod Conversion in Once Human, including how to craft your desired Legendary mod with higher rarity suffixes.
How to make Legendary mods using Mod Conversion in Once Human?
After reaching Level 40 on the Novice Servers, or immediately after completing the tutorial from Season 2 onwards, you will gain access to the Mod Conversion feature in Once Human via the Mods menu. This allows you to craft your desired gold mod with one guaranteed suffix of your choice. To make one, you will have to spend six unenhanced Legendary mods along with 20,000 Energy Links.
By default, there isn't a hotkey assigned for the Mods menu. However, you can open your Backpack or the Gear menu by pressing I or K, respectively, and then navigate to the Mods tab at the top by pressing E.
In the Mods menu, you can access the Once Human Mod Conversion feature by clicking the option above the Owned Mods stats on the right.
In the Once Human Mod Conversion menu, you can select the type of Legendary mod you want to craft by navigating to either Weapon or Armor Mods at the top and then choosing the specific mod from the options below.
After selecting the Legendary mod, you can choose the suffix you want from the option on the right. To guarantee your desired suffix, you must have at least four unenhanced Legendary mods with the same suffix.
For example, the Violent suffix guarantees that the first suffix on a mod is always Crit DMG. So, if you want to craft an Obliterate mod with Crit DMG, you will need four other mods with the Violent suffix. These can be any gold mods, as long as they have the Violent suffix, to guarantee that your crafted mod will also have it.
Additionally, you can guarantee the rarity of your suffixes in the crafted mod by spending mods with higher rarity suffixes. This feature is primarily designed for endgame players, as there is a higher chance of obtaining Legendary mods with Epic rarity suffixes in Pro mode, which unlocks in the later phases in Once Human.
Once you have selected the four mods with the desired suffix, the remaining two can be completely random. The first four mods determine the primary suffix of your crafted mod, while the last two don’t affect that outcome. However, if you want higher rarity suffixes on your crafted mod, it’s crucial that all the mods you sacrifice/spend also have higher rarity suffixes.
For example, if all six mods you use have at least one Purple/Epic suffix, it will guarantee that there will be at least one Epic suffix on your crafted mod. Similarly, if the remaining three suffixes have higher rarities, like Common or Rare, then the rest of the suffixes on your crafted mod will also have at least Common or Rare rarity suffixes.
Lastly, there are several "suffix terms" like Violent, Precision, The Bull's Eye, Shrapnel, and others that determine what your primary suffix will be. As mentioned, Violent corresponds to Crit DMG, while Precision refers to Weakspot DMG.
The Violent suffix is common across all gold mods, but other suffixes are specific to certain build types like Shrapnel, Frost Vortex, Power Surge, etc. You can learn more about each suffix by hovering over the yellow exclamation symbol next to the Suffix option and pressing X to read a detailed explanation of the Attribution Generation Rules.
