A guild in Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is a community of players that group to do various things. Be it teaming up for matches, socializing, or getting guidance, a guild takes care of everything that you might expect from an MMORPG. You can create a guild by joining three players or an already existing guild.
Guilds enable you to team up with others for PvE or PvP matches. Being in a group with people you know means that you can have better coordination during fights. Guilds also act as a place where you can meet other players and make friends. Veteran players in the guild can also teach you about different mechanics and playstyles in the game.
In this article, we will talk about how to quit a guild in SWTOR and also how to join one.
How do you quit a guild in SWTOR?
Quitting a guild in SWTOR is simple, but it does not appear in your guild window. You cannot just go to your guild's page and quit, as there is no button to leave the guild.
To leave a guild, you must go to the general chat or any chat box in the game and type '/gquit', as shown in the image above. However, keep in mind that when you leave a guild, you lose access to guild perks as well as the Guild Bank.

How to join a guild in SWTOR
You cannot join a guild through the Guild Window. While in the game, you will see that there are many guild recruitments in the chat. You can check out the guild by clicking on its name in chat and sending a whisper to the one who sent the message. The recruiter would then invite you into the guild.
