The First Descendant is an expansive live-service journey, but in case something goes wrong, developer Nexon offers players the option to reset their account. This is a clean slate option, meaning all progress done in the latest online multiplayer sci-fi looter shooter will be wiped permanently. It is not a solution many would find themselves resorting to, but it is available to use nevertheless.

Those gamers who find themselves in a pinch about their progression for The First Descendant may wish to reset their account. This guide will help them know how to go about it.

The account reset option in The First Descendent is available under the Options tab in the Game Menu. Here, navigate to the Account section where you will be able to see all necessary details of your account. This includes a way to link your Nexon Account to the game as well as your unique Member Code.

To reset the account, press the Reset Account Details button. Depending on whether or not you have your Nexon Account linked, the account reset will work slightly differently:

  • If the account is linked: The game data will take 15 days to be erased. You can cancel this process at any time before then to abort the account wipe procedure.
  • If the account is not linked: All game data will be erased immediately.

As mentioned before, this account rest option will only wipe the game data in The First Descendant and not any other Nexon game. So you do not need to worry in the slightest if your Nexon Account is linked to the game. That said, why would anyone want to reset their account? That is a good question, especially if players have spent real money on in-game purchases and the game data wipe will erase all in-game currencies as well.

However, if someone is starting the game for the first time and does not like one of the three starter heroes in The First Descendent, then this is a good idea as they will be unable to change their class after the initial pick. New heroes, or Descendants as they are called in-game, need to be Researched to be unlocked. This is a very long and grind-heavy process - so this is one scenario where account reset makes sense.

Once the account has been reset, they can log in and start over fresh from the tutorial.
