In Path of Exile, a respec can be crucial if you activate incorrect nodes when setting up a build. It's traditionally not been easy to change invested points in the game but with patch 3.25 has gotten easier. If you're a long-time player then you're probably familiar with the pain of realizing you've taken several ineffective passive nodes.
When this happens, your only options are to respec or start your character over entirely. In the past, there have only been two methods of changing your passives, orbs of regret and refund points. Now with the Settlers of Kalguur league Grinding Gear Games has introduced a third respec method, using gold.
In this article, we'll explain various methods to respec in Path of Exile patch 3.25 and which is the most cost-effective.
Respec your passives in Path of Exile
Given how complicated the passive trees are in Path of Exile, it's common for players to make some mistakes with their builds. Even when using Path of Build or similar applications, players may decide to experiment and realize their points have been wasted. When this happens, there are three ways to remedy the problem.

The first way to respec your passive skill points in Path of Exile is to use Refund Points. These are a very limited currency you obtain after finishing the main questline. When completed, you will be given 20 refund points that can be used to reverse decisions you've made in your passive skill tree. This is the most cost and time-effective way to respec, assuming you have made 20 or fewer mistakes.
The second way to respec nodes is to use an Orb of Regret, a somewhat rare loot material. Using a single orb will return a single passive skill point that you've spent. This is still a cost-effective method as they can be obtained cheaply or for free by farming enemies. It is however less time-effective than a Refund Point as you'll have to farm them to get them for free.

The final and newest way, introduced in Path of Exile Settlers of Kalguur, is to pay for a respec with Gold. Currently, the cost is calculated by your character level and you must pay gold for each node refunded. Since gold takes time to generate and has other uses, this is the least cost-effective method. It's worth mentioning that this method can be used to respec ascendancy points as well.
