How to sell items in Brighter Shores

Brighter Shores selling items
If you're starting to run out of room in Brighter Shores, one option is to sell items - here's what you need to know (Image via Fen Research)

Before long in Brighter Shores, your backpack will be stuffed, and it will be time to sell items. Whether it’s reagents you don’t have a use for and don’t want to store, or equipment that just isn’t worth holding onto anymore, it’s going to be worth your time to pawn them off on a vendor. Whether you sell specific items is entirely up to you; you may come across powerful gear you don’t have an interest in, or it’s not for a class you plan on playing.

As with all MMOs, regardless of whether in Early Access, it’s the player’s responsibility as to what items they do and do not part with. Although Brighter Shores does have an item buyback feature while selling items, it won’t stay in that buyback system forever. You have to be careful in all MMOs to ensure you don’t sell something you genuinely need/want.

Brighter Shores lets you sell items at specific vendors

Unlike many MMOs, Brighter Shores requires you to sell items at specific vendors. This could change further into the game, or even in an update, but as of right now, you have to sell items in specific places. In Hopeport, you’ll start accruing huge numbers of weapons and armor by killing enemies to level up the Guard Profession.

If you want to sell this equipment, head back to the Quartermaster, which is next to the Infirmary and Training Ground, at the end of Stone Street. You can head in here, and speak to the Quartermaster to sell items in Hopeport. Any combat equipment can be sold here as an example. Be careful, though — if you select “Sell All,” it will sell all non-equipped items he can take.

At this time, we don’t know how long items will stay in Buyback at a shop, but I can confirm that if you log out and realize you made a mistake, you can log back in and buy an item back. We just don’t know how long it will stay this way. If we figure out the precise amount of time, we’ll update this accordingly.

Conversely, if you’re going to sell your Alchemy-related items, you’ll want to head to the Apothecary on Stone Street. Any item you want to sell to a vendor has to be sold to specific people. While this is a clunky system, it does help players avoid accidentally selling something they don’t mean to.
