The ammo types in Once Human loaded into a weapon determine how much damage that weapon can deal. Given the apocalyptic nature of the game, surviving this world requires all the firepower you can gather, including special ammo for your weapons.
With each level of progress, you'll unlock a wider variety of ammunition that requires special materials. However, crafting ammo is not enough, as you'll also have to manually change the ammo in your gun to use it. Guide for changing ammo types in Once Human
To change the ammo types in Once Human, first open the inventory menu. Here, you can find different tabs on the top row. Click on the “Gear” tab to see all the gear that you are currently equipped with. This includes weapons, armor, and other accessories. Select the weapon whose ammo you want to change.

After selecting the weapon, three new tabs will appear alongside the model of the weapon. These three tabs are Mods, Accessory, and Cosmetics. Select the Accessory tab. Here, you can see all the attachments available for your weapon, including the muzzle, optic, magazine, and more.
Select the Ammo option in this menu. Once selected, you can view all the available ammo for the weapon. Here, you can select the ammo you want the weapon to use. Once selected, exit out of the menu.
Now, whenever you use the weapon, it will fire the selected ammo. Always remember to have a good stack of the selected ammo in your inventory, especially when you are fighting an Elite or Boss enemy.

You can unlock new ammo as you progress through the game, and they can be found in the crafting tree of your Memetic menu. The last and most advanced ammo type in Once Human is the Tungsten AP ammo. Besides crafting ammo, you can also loot ammo from random crates in strongholds.
