The Glowtail in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration is one of the Charge Pets (aka Glow Pets) that you can find and tame in the game. This creature can illuminate your surroundings to help you fight off threats like the Reaper and Nameless. In terms of appearance, it looks like a lizard/chameleon with a bioluminescent glowing gland on its tail.

What to do to tame Glowtail in ARK Survival Ascended

To tame a Glow Pet in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration, you must feed them their favorite food.

The Glowtail's choices of food are Plant Species Z Seed, Ascerbic Mushroom, and Base Seeds. While the mushroom and seeds are comparatively easier to find, the most effective and recommended way to tame any Glow Pet is by feeding it Z seeds.

You can get Z seeds from Z plants, which can be found in the Blue Zone. Look around the location to find a large purple plant with a tongue-like part in the middle. Its seeds can't be harvested; you will have to wait for 60 seconds for it to spit out a seed that you can collect.

You need five seeds to tame the Glowtail in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration.

Where can you find Glowtail in ARK Survival Ascended?

You can find the Glowtail in the Blue Zone and Red Zone of ARK Survival Ascended. However, keep in mind that these locations are highly irradiated areas, so equip a Hazard suit to survive.

Once you locate a Glowtail in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration, feed it the Z seeds. Once it is fed enough seeds, the Glowtail will be tamed. You can name it to claim it.

To make the Glowtail glow, simply go to its context menu and select the toggle option. The Glowtail is a shoulder pet, so you can easily carry it on all of your expeditions in the dark regions of the Aberration map.

ARK Survival Ascended spawn command for Glowtail

The command for spawning a Tamed Glowtail is:

cheat gmsummon "LanternLizard_Character_BP_C" 60

Open the command console on your game and paste this command to spawn a Tamed Glowtail. On PC, the console command can be opened using the 'tilde' key.
