Enigma Protocol is another secret Destiny 2 mission tied to the Episode Echoes. Nessus, being the center of attraction this season, is the source of the mission as well. Unlocking the Enigma Protocol mission doesn't require solving activities or puzzles like Dual Destiny on Pale Heart. Instead, the starting point is deep within the planet.

This article will guide you through unlocking the Enigma Protocol, and the basic mechanics you must follow after starting the mission.

Unlocking the Enigma Protocol mission in Destiny 2

To start, ensure you complete the prologue mission of Episode Echoes before starting your journey. Once Failsafe arrives at the HELM, you will be done with the prologue of the seasonal story. Next, open your Destinations tab, select Nessus, and spawn on the Artifact's Edge.

From the Artifact's Edge, make your way towards "Well of Echoes" on the map. This is past the "Tangle" area, where you will find a large triangular doorway on a white structure.

Enter and immediately look for a small hole in the ground to your right. Jump down and keep going straight through the triangular corridor until you find a Vex portal.

Pass through this portal and you will come across an open area with a Vex conflux in the middle, alongside multiple Vex enemies and a Minotaur boss.

Your goal here is to shoot and destroy four Vex confluxes in the area, followed by the Minotaur boss. The first conflux is in the middle, followed by the second one on the top left. The third one is hidden away behind a wall on the top right, and the fourth/last conflux can be found at the back side of the room, on top of the closed Vex portal.

After killing the boss, look for an objective marker on the floor that leads to another hole. Jump down and wait as it goes quite deep underneath. After a while, you will see a small Vex fast-travel point, alongside the starting point of "Enigma Protocol."
