How to use the Butterfly Emissary in Once Human

Once Human’s Butterfly Emissary is one of the more useful Deviation companions you can collect in the survival MMO. It’s also the first one that you collect, and it’s not clear how you use it right off the bat. If you don’t know what to do with the adorable butterfly, we’re here to help you summon and use it efficiently.

This guide will help you with all the Deviation companions in the game, as using them is the same throughout the game. If you want to use these adorable friends, you have to summon them and in this case, bring them with you into battle. The following dives into the use of Butterfly Emissary and others throughout this survival MMO.

Summoning and using the Butterfly Emissary in Once Human

After completing the Deviation companion tutorial in Once Human, you should have access to Butterfly Emissary. But that doesn’t mean you can use it. To summon the Butterfly Emissary or any other Deviation companion, you have to place it inside an Isolated Securement Unit. You should have one of these glass cases in your base as you play this free-to-play MMO.

If you don’t have one, you’ll have to craft it. You can find it in the Facilities section of the Build Menu. Select Function Facility, and finally select Isolated Securement Unit in the special section.

Once you have the Unit, interact with it, and select Butterfly Emissary. Now, interact with the Securement Unit again, and you’ll see information pop up about this particular monster. Click Sync to Cradle in the bottom right corner of the screen, and that’s it! Now, just hop on your motorcycle and head back into the world.

When you need a hand in combat, hold the E key and you’ll summon Once Human’s Butterfly Emissary. In the center of a circle, you’ll see this monster’s Total Power. When this meter hits 0, it will automatically unsummon until it’s recharged back to 100.

Keep that in mind while using it. You will also see its attack abilities outside the circle. Just select the one you want to use - Designate Target or Auto Attack. That’s all there is to controlling this Deviation companion.
