World Merging has been a highly requested feature in Once Human since the end of Season 1 about a month ago, and it was finally added with the September 12, 2024 patch. Although the system is currently quite basic, it will help mask the low population issue in servers that are in their Settlement Phases at the end of their Seasonal Scenario.
This guide covers everything about the World Merging feature in Once Human.
What is World Merging in Once Human?
In Phase 6 of a Seasonal Scenario, also known as the Settlement Phase, players have the option to join a new server and replay the same Scenario or choose a different one. However, those who prefer not to move on can remain in their Season 1 server for the rest of this phase, which lasts about four weeks.
At the start of a Season, a server contains 10 Worlds, providing ample space for players to build their bases without overcrowding. But, as most active players transition to new servers, those who stay behind often find themselves in a nearly empty World.
The Once Human World Merging feature, as the name suggests, reduces the total number of Worlds by merging them and bringing the remaining players together. This ensures regular player interactions, preventing them from being all alone in the last phase.
Players will be notified when a World is about to merge, allowing them to relocate their territories to a safe World, according to the latest patch notes.
However, since most servers are still in the middle of their Seasonal Scenarios, World Merging hasn't occurred yet, making it unclear exactly how the system will function. For example, will only one World remain after the merge, and what happens if players fail to move their territories in time — will those bases be destroyed? We will update this article as more information becomes available.

While the World Merging feature in Once Human is a welcome addition, the main reason behind the high demand for this feature remains. As most active players move to new servers at the end of a Season, those who choose to stay eventually join new servers once the four-week Settlement Phase ends. By that time, many of the new servers remain somewhat empty because most of the playerbase is already settled in older servers.
Perhaps a system that merges multiple servers, rather than just their Worlds, could address this issue. Until then, the World Merging feature in Once Human is still a step in the right direction.
