The latest Once Human patch introduced the Season 2 Battle Pass, called "Nighttime Rose," featuring 60 levels of free rewards and an additional paid Advanced edition. Unlike Premium Battle Passes in most free-to-play games, this one is notable for not having any pay-to-win or pay-for-convenience items and only offering cosmetics.

Many wonder whether the cosmetic rewards justify the $10 to $24 price tag of the Once Human Battle Pass Advanced. Although the answer to that question is largely subjective, the impressive designs of these new items make the Battle Pass Advanced worth the purchase, especially if you want to support Starry Studio.

The Once Human Battle Pass consists of two tracks with 60 levels each. The free track offers in-game currencies, items, and some cosmetic rewards, though they are less flashy compared to what’s available in the cash shop.

However, since this track is open to all players — whether they spend money or not — it incentivizes them to unlock these rewards by participating in various gameplay activities while keeping the system fair for everyone.

On the other hand, the paid/premium track, unlocked by purchasing the Advanced version of the Battle Pass, adds another 60 rewards, all of which are cosmetic. These include Cradle, armor and weapon skins, furniture formulas, emotes, stickers, weapon paints, and various other items.

From a gameplay perspective, there's no need to purchase the Battle Pass Advanced in Once Human, and that's a good thing. As a free-to-play live service game without pay-to-win elements, relying on cosmetic items for monetization is the best approach a developer can take.

However, what makes the Battle Pass Advanced in Once Human worth considering is the exceptional design and quality of these items, which will help you stand out.

While the game itself is extremely fun and engaging, it does lack a wide variety of cool cosmetics that can be earned without spending money. Unfortunately, this is a common downside of free-to-play games.

However, if you want to enhance your look, elevate your base’s aesthetics, and use exclusive emotes, the Once Human Battle Pass Advanced offers the best value for your money compared to buying individual items from the cash shop. The full package costs $9.99, and there’s also a Luxurious Edition for $23.99, which includes four additional premium cosmetics.

Lastly, purchasing the Battle Pass Advanced in Once Human is also a great way to support the developer. As a live service title that receives frequent updates and new features, the cash shop is the game's only source of revenue. While spending in the cash shop can be quite expensive, the Battle Pass offers a more affordable option with amazing rewards, making it the best of both worlds.
