Unlocking vehicles takes time: Getting new vehicles in the game can take a long time. Oftentimes, you have to unlock a bunch of vehicles at a certain level before you can move on to the next. This can be a hassle, especially if your favorite nation has few vehicles at that level. For example, you need to unlock a certain number of tanks from Rank VII to access Rank VIII in specific tech trees, such as Sweden and Japan, which can significantly increase the grind.

Different countries, different challenges: Each country in the game has its own set of vehicles. Some countries have more accessible paths to progress through, while others might need you to unlock more vehicles.

It's a major time commitment: Getting new vehicles, especially the interesting ones, can take a lot of time. It might take months of playing regularly to get to the top tanks or planes. Moving up through different tech trees in War Thunder, like France and the US,can require a significant time investment, but this largely depends on how you play and which vehicles you pick.

It can even take players months of grinding to get to specific big goals, like unlocking the first Leclerc tank.

Some parts are tougher than others: Some parts of the game can feel like a slog. This could be because the balance between vehicles isn't quite right or because the matchmaking system isn't fair. It can make progressing through the game feel slow and frustrating.

Pay to win: The title revolves around vehicles, and players who don’t invest in the game might face more difficulties than players who buy vehicles with real-world money. Also, those who have a premium account will instantly get Research Points and Silver Lions (in-game currency).

If you have a premium account or special premium vehicles, it can make things much easier. But not everyone can get those or afford to spend money on them. For those making do without premium benefits, the grind can feel much harder.

There are, however, a few tips for making your grind in War Thunder easier. First off, Focus on just one country at a time. By sticking with one nation, you can unlock higher-tier vehicles faster because you'll get bonuses for using vehicles from that country, and your crew will get better at using them. It's also a good idea to research efficiently.

Some paths through the tech tree take less time than others, so it's worth looking for guides that recommend the fastest routes.

Another trick is to team up with friends. Playing in a squad gives you a bonus, which means you'll earn research points faster. You should also keep an eye out for special events in the title.

These events often offer extra rewards, so take advantage of them whenever you can to speed up your research. And finally, don't forget about your crew skills. Investing in skills that boost your research point gains will help you progress even faster.
