Live Fire is a Precision Framed Stasis Scout Rifle that arrived with Destiny 2 Episode Revenant. It has a lot of base damage and range at the cost of fire rate (it fires at 180 RPM). For this reason, players usually use this gear piece for something more heavyweight, such as boss DPS in PvE and long-range fights in PvP.
Some interesting artifact perks in Episode Revenant transform Live Fire into a more lethal mob-clearing machine. This article lists the best Live Fire Scout Rifle perks for PvE and PvP.

Live Fire PvE god roll for Destiny 2
The following perks are recommended for Live Fire in Destiny 2 PvE:
- Arrowhead Brake for reduced recoil and increased Handling
- Extended Mag for increased magazine size
- Rimestealer for gaining Frost Armor after destroying a Stasis crystal
- Headstone for spawning a Stasis crystal after scoring a kill with precision hits
The combination of Rimestealer and Headstone is always a must-have if available, as it provides direct access to free Frost Armor buff, significantly reducing damage from incoming attacks. Subsistence and Shoot to Loot are great alternatives as utility perks, alongside Rampage for more damage.
Live Fire PvP god roll for Destiny 2
The following perks are recommended for Live Fire in Destiny 2 PvP:
- Chambered Compensator for reduced recoil and increased Stability
- Ricochet Rounds for increased Range and Stability
- Rapid Hit for increased Stability and reload speed with successive precision hits
- To the Pain for increased handling and aim-assist after taking damage, until the weapon has been stowed
Since Live Fire is a Precision Framed weapon, it works well without relying much on damage perks. Hence, utility is the best thing you can pair with it.
However, if you are looking for more damage, Rampage is available as an alternative in the final column, alongside Heating Up if you need some extra aim-assist on the weapon.
How to get a Live Fire Scout Rifle in Destiny 2
Live Fire Scout Rifle can be farmed from anywhere in the game, as it is available in the drop pool. However, the best places to look for it include the Legendary Engrams, Prime Engrams, and the Gunsmith Engrams from Banshee-44. Decrypting any one of these Engrams will drop the weapon.
However, if you want to increase your chances of finding it even further, stick to Gunsmith Engrams only as they drop weapons. There is also a chance that Banshee might sell the weapon in his shop in a random week. However, the chances of getting a god roll are very low.
