Maahes HC4 came as a massive surprise to a lot of players in Destiny 2 The Final Shape. It was added to the World loot pool with the launch of the expansion, and now it is arguably one of the most powerful Primary Hand Cannons in the game. Maahes is a double Heavy-Burst Framed weapon, making it only the third firearm aside from Warden's Law and Bold Endings.

This article lists the best perks on the Maahes HC4 Hand Cannon for PvE and PvP. Note that this Legendary Hand Cannon is not craftable or enhanceable, but is the only double-burst framed Energy Hand Cannon currently in the game.

The following is a list of the best perks on the Maahes HC4 Hand Cannon for PvE:

  • Smallbore for Stability and Range on the weapon
  • Flared Magwell for increased Reload Speed and Stability on the weapon
  • Repulsor Brace for gaining a Void over-shield after defeating an enemy with void debuffed
  • Destabilizing Rounds for applying Volatile debuff on adjacent targets after defeating an enemy. The range is a 6.5-meter radius from the killed enemy.

Since this is a World drop weapon, getting the best perk combination isn't easy. Hence, some perks can be considered decent. Enlightened Action or Rapid Hit are great utility perks in the third column, alongside Dragonfly or Frenzy in the fourth column.

How to get Maahes HC4 in Destiny 2?

As mentioned, the Maahes HC4 Hand Cannon can be acquired from a random world drop. Meaning players can get it as a drop from any activity or chest in the game, or by decrypting Prime Engram and Legendary Engram from Master Rahool.

There are Gunsmith Engrams to look for as well, which have the chance to drop weapons only, as opposed to other Engrams that can also drop armor pieces.
