The second PTR date for Mortal Online 2 has been revealed with the latest dev announcement for the game. Mortal Online 2 is an open sandbox MMORPG that lets the player make their own journey. With no leveling or class system, every player gets to shape their adventure.

An update is set to be released for Mortal Online 2, and the PTR date for this update is September 25, 2024. During the PTR, aka the Public Test Realm, players will be able to test the new features coming with the new update and give their feedback to the developers.

Select players will be able to test the new update on September 25, 2024, in the PTR. A major highlight of this update is a complete overhaul of pet gameplay. Now, pets earn experience points each time you kill an enemy that rewards Glory. This is a significant shift from the previous system, where pets only received active experience bonuses during combat. Now, weaker and more common pets will level up faster than their stronger counterparts.

Another significant update coming with this patch is the migration of Mortal Online 2 to Unreal Engine 5.4. This update is primarily a technical upgrade rather than a visual one as Star Vault is working to improve performance and stability. Although visual enhancements may not be immediately noticeable, this update lays the groundwork for future optimizations, with potential performance improvements down the line.

Moreover, devs are planning to build a more welcoming and supportive community with this update, by introducing a new “Fledgling Flag” system that marks new accounts. This flag will act as a visual cue for experienced players to identify newcomers who may need assistance or guidance. Star Vault is exploring additional incentives to encourage veteran players to offer support to those with the Fledgling Flag.

Finally, the update also addresses dungeon stability, introducing a new system to prevent character loss in case of a crash. If a dungeon crashes while a player is inside, the update ensures that characters remain in the world for a few hours, giving players a chance to recover and avoid severe losses.
