A new Avalon mission is on the cards for Destiny 2 Season 21. This first Avalon mission was introduced alongside the Lightfall expansion and was a secret mission. Players had to seek out a couple of Vex nodes at the EDZ and interact with them to unlock a mission. Although it's unclear if the new mission will be hidden or not, it should involve some really popular characters who were seen in the first mission itself.

In the past, Bungie always included some secret whenever a new season came around in Destiny 2. However, after a while, that stopped. Now that they've started off with the secret missions once again, it'll be interesting to see how they plan out this new one.

Bungie uses Morse Code to tease new Destiny 2 Avalon mission

Bungie rarely teases new missions on Twitter. However, with a few days left before Season of the Deep begins, the developers tweeted a cryptic code with pictures of a Vex network. A quick decryption of the code revealed that it translated to "Assistant. Avalon Awaits."

This does raise a few questions. Who is the assistant that's being addressed here? If this is a message by Asher Mir himself, it's highly unlikely that he would refer to the Guardian as his "assistant." Another explanation for this would be that there's another branch of the Avalon node known as "assistant." At this point, it's hard to speculate who or what this assistant is. That aside, the only thing confirmed from this mission is that players will be venturing into the Avalon network once again.

It's also unclear if this new mission will be associated with the Vexcalibur Exotic Glaive. However, the new Avalon mission in Destiny 2 Season 21 could also provide further information about the Veil, the mysterious artifact related to both Light and Darkness. It will be interesting to see where this mission takes place, though. It's unlikely that this mission will be available on Titan.

The most interesting bit about Titan is that players can finally venture underwater. Certain leaks have also claimed that players can catch fish in Destiny 2 in the Season of the Deep. Overall, Bungie plans to give the entire game a huge overhaul in the upcoming season.

Truth be told, the developers were planning on introducing some major changes starting in the Lightfall expansion itself. Apart from the weapon reticle adjustments that are arriving in the next season, there's an Exotic mission rotator scheduled to arrive in the season after that in Destiny 2. Many old Exotic missions like Zero Hour and Whisper will be returning. These missions were fan favorites, and players will be excited to be able to play these once again.
