New World Aeternum is a brand new Massively Multiplayer Online ARPG inspired by Diablo and World of Warcraft online that Amazon Games announced recently. The game, originally known as New World, was released as a PC exclusive in 2021. Aeternum is a new paid expansion with improved visuals and new content. It will also bring New World to PS5 and Xbox series X/S.

Aeternum, however, is not just an expansion. According to the official blog post on Amazon Games, the amount of content it brings can be seen as a whole new game. Besides improvements in visuals and other quality-of-life aspects, New World Aeternum will feature new content in story and gameplay.

New World Aeternum will be launched on all the platforms on the same day, October 15, 2024. But remember that if you already have purchased New World on PC along with the Angry Earth expansion, Aeternum will be free.

The main boasting aspect of Aeternum is the new large-scale player vs. player zone, which, according to Amazon, has never been done in any other game. However, details on this feature are somewhat limited. Based on the community speculations, it may be a massive open area where all the players can interact or fight. Aeternum also has a revamped dialogue system that gives players more choices and freedom to craft and control their journeys.
