Action MMO previously pulled from shelves gets re-released two years later

The wait for Fractured Online, an MMO on Steam, is now over as the game had its launch on July 24, 2024, with big changes and a new server. The title received an Early Access release on the digital distribution service in late 2022. However, it had to be pulled back into closed development after it faced issues with its "third-party backend platform," which was supposed to be managing its servers.

Subsequently, after Fractured Online went into closed development in December 2022, its developer, Dynamight Studios, announced that it had parted ways with publisher Gamigo and would be self-publishing the game online.

Fractured Online underwent two years of recovery after it had to be shelved after its initial early-access launch.

Gamigo deleted it from its website after a second round of layoffs in late 2022. The title then suffered a major hack that destroyed player cities, which was followed by a player exodus.

The MMORPG's eight-man development team has now stated that the title has undergone major changes since then, with major overhauls in some original design ideas. It has also received new content, but according to them, the core idea of the game remainS the same.

Fractured Online's release sees the introduction of a new server called Elysium, along with the existing Genesis, and various open-world PVP rules so that players do not have to worry about being attacked by others while exploring.

The title's development is supposed to continue post-release, as the team has said there will be a good amount of endgame content as things progress.
