All Destiny 2 seasonal quest steps will be available from the start of Episode Revenant

Destiny 2 seasonal quest steps, which are available weekly, will now become accessible to all players at launch. The information that was revealed by the developer during a live stream will be implemented with the arrival of Episode Revenant, where each Act's story quest will be unlocked all at once.

Episodes are an extended take on the seasons, where players can expect to get more content weekly. This is to make the seasonal loop feel more alive and keep the community engaged with multiple updates, changes to the meta, new gear pieces, and new missions that will remain time-gated until everyone reaches a specific period within the same Episode.

Some players have been confused about the quest steps of upcoming Act 2 and 3 of Echoes, wondering if they will also be unlocked at launch. Bungie has clarified that Episode Echoes' remaining quests will continue to have weekly beats.

Bungie confirms unlocking all Destiny 2 seasonal quests at the start of each Episode

Bungie recently held a developer livestream on July 9, where they talked about all the upcoming game modes, weapons, and additional Destiny 2 Artifact perks regarding Act 2 of Episode Echoes. However, one of the major complaints from the community was addressed as well, which involved time-gated seasonal quests.

Seasonal quests are essential to progress in any cycle, as they hold certain gear pieces, triumphs, collectibles, and even locations locked behind them. Hence, if a seasonal quest runs for four weeks, players must complete the quest by waiting for four weeks before most of the features unlock.

Due to this, Bungie stated that with the Episode Revenant, all seasonal quest steps will be unlocked at the Episode launch. This will apply to the Heresy Episode that will be coming after.

Destiny 2 team's official statement regarding the change is as follows:

"For our next Episode, Revenant, each Act's entire story will be available to play as it launches instead of week to week. Our goal is to give players an opportunity to play at their own pace. We'll be monitoring feedback when these changes go live. We'd also like to note specifically that Episode: Echoes will continue to have weekly story beats for Act 2 and Act 3."

Note that this change applies to each Destiny 2 Act and not an entire Episode. Hence, any new weapons, activities, and stories will still be locked behind a separate Act, as they will arrive on a scheduled monthly basis.
