Brave Arsenal weapons were one of the primary reasons for the success of Destiny 2 Into the Light. Gear pieces that returned to the loot pool with updated perk pools were considered some of the best in business, and they continue to dominate the sandbox even after three months of their release.

With the arrival of the new expansion, Bungie vaulted almost 90% of Into the Light, keeping only the standard version of the weapons in the current game, alongside the Onslaught game mode in the Strikes node.

However, with the release of the July 25 TWID blog post, the company confirmed that they are shedding a bit of light back onto the Brave Arsenal weapons. Each weapon can be attuned again when the 8.0.5 update gets implemented in August 2024.

Brave weapon attunement is returning in Destiny 2

Brave weapons consisted of 12 gear pieces from either the DCV (Destiny Content Vault) or old activities that had outdated perks. One weapon, however, was new in the mix. The list of the weapons is as follows:

  • Blast Furnace
  • Luna's Howl
  • The Recluse
  • The Mountaintop
  • Fallen Guillotine
  • Midnight Coup
  • Forbearance
  • Hammerhead
  • Elsie's Rifle
  • Edge Transit
  • Hung Jury SR4
  • Succession

Starting next month, every player will find an attunement option of Brave Arsenal weapons from Zavala at the Tower. The Titan Vanguard will have a new section within his inventory, where the standard version of a single Brave Arsenal weapon can be attuned at a time.

The drop chance of that attuned Destiny 2 Brave weapon will be increased by 60% in Onslaught activity, which is more than the original 50% drop rate chance from Into the Light.

Additionally, there will be no cooldown to the attunement, or a cost to attune any weapon. Note that this attunement section will only consist of the STANDARD version of the Brave weapons, and there will also be no shiny gear pieces with 2x perks.
