Bungie has confirmed a fix for the Destiny 2 Perk RNG issue

After weeks of theories shared within the Destiny 2 community, it appears most of them have proven to be true. Bungie's official confirmation not too long ago claimed that the developers have found a recurring issue within the game's coding system that has been impacting the drop for weapon Perks all these years.

Recently, the company announced a fix for the future, where they will deal with the issue via an update scheduled for November 5, 2024. This article explores more.

Pursuing the best perks on weapons has been the primary task for any player in Destiny 2. Whether it's a Heavy weapon from a Raid or a Kinetic weapon from a Strike, the perk rolls on the dropped gear piece always come down to a player's luck.

However, recent theories and data-crunching within the community have claimed that some perk drops might be favored over others, resulting in a massive flaw in drops. Bungie was quick to address this, confirming a fix within a code for a game-wide system. The company issued the following statement regarding the fix:

"The team is continuing to make progress in addressing issues impacting Perk RNG. Currently, we are targeting a hotfix for November 5, 2024. As this fix will touch code for a game-wide system, we're giving the team a bit more time to fully validate the changes needed to address this issue."

There is a free emblem to be had as well, where the developers want everyone to come together and help them identify the issue. Here is the code for redeeming the emblem, called Conqueror of Infinity.
