Destiny 2 Frontiers roadmap to be laid out by Bungie sooner than expected

After weeks of silence from Bungie, the Destiny 2 community is finally getting some insight into the future. The lack of communication from the company took the sentiment of the player base to an all-time low, which resulted in a significant dip in player count in the current Episode. However, the recent TWID blog post did confirm that the Game and Narrative Directors will be shedding some light on Frontiers, the game's next saga.

Players and anyone interested can expect a special Dev Insight blog post focusing mainly on the Frontiers saga, and everything planned for next year and beyond.

The blog post has been scheduled for September 9, 2024, at 8 am PT.

Bungie confirms blog post for Destiny 2 Frontiers roadmap

Dev Insight blogs are nothing new from Bungie. The company is known for sharing a written post on its official website regarding the content featured in an upcoming expansion or a season. Sometimes, it can be far more than just a simple announcement. Here's what the TWID (This Week in Destiny) post stated:

"We’re planning to start our journey into Destiny 2 - Codename: Frontiers. At 8AM PT, we’ll be releasing a short Dev Insight blog article discussing our goals for the future of Destiny. Destiny 2 Game Director Tyson Green and Destiny 2 Narrative Director Alison Lührs will be guiding the conversation."

Addressing its plans for future communication, Bungie stated:

"This marks the beginning of regular updates from our development team about what's next for Destiny 2, including details about its systems and future plans. While the updates may be a bit rough around the edges as they are early in the development process, we're excited about sharing our goals and progress with you."

One important note here is that Bungie has confirmed that the upcoming blog post on September 9 is the "start of a conversation," as the company plans to dish out smaller posts over the next months, instead of bigger ones with thousands of words at once.
