Destiny 2's Trials of Osiris Adept weapons are now easy to farm from the competitive PvP event. While standard weapons are easy to come by via Trials Engram and Glimmer, Adept weapons have always required the challenging triumph of reaching the Lighthouse, meaning that a player must have seven flawless wins. With the July 25 TWID, Bungie is pushing another requirement that might be a huge addition for the more casual playerbase.
In one of August's major patches, Bungie will change the requirement in Passage of Persistence, one of the cards in the Trials of Osiris. The current requirement in the Persistence card states that any loss with this card will remove a win. Starting in August, consecutive losses in the Persistence card will not remove wins, allowing a trio to farm as many matches as they want until they amass seven wins.
Destiny 2 Passage of Persistence card will not remove a win upon loss anymore
Bungie's PvP Strike team has been pushing multiple updates ever since the release of The Final Shape expansion last month. From new weapons to a complete change to the core sandbox, players can easily see the shift in meta from pre-expansion to post-launch. However, one of the changes coming in August 2024 might just surpass every other update due to its sheer scale of QoL (quality of life).
Scheduled for 8.0.5 in August 2024, the Passage of Persistence card will not deduct a win upon a loss as a trio in Trials of Osiris. This means any fireteam of three players can lose as many matches as they want, and obtain the weekly Adept weapon as long as the Passage has seven wins.
Note that a win will only be deducted from a player if they quit a match. The primary reason behind this change is to increase the casual trio population in the Trials of Osiris competitive PvP game mode. Those who still want to go flawless and into the Lighthouse still have an additional incentive to chase the rare Exotic Ghost shells and Sparrows in Destiny 2.
